La Sultana Oualidia
Oualidia is a small village on the Atlantic coast, facing a salt water lagoon and beach where ocean and coast merge.
Oualidia is just a 2,5-hour drive from Marrakech and 2 hours from Casablanca and is the ideal place to unwind. The magic of the lagoon and the tides, provides a constantly-changing back veil. Poised on the edge of the ocean, in a site of great ecological importance, Oualidia will attract, captivate, energise and sooth in equal measure. The beauty of the natural landscape comes with an exceptional climate « mediterranean with oceanic influence » offering cool winters and fresh air in the summer.
Each room has been carefully designed with natural materials to reinforce this feeling. The ceiling is made from rows of Oleander, the walls are of stone and tadelakt, while the painted wooden furniture and the ancient marble floor contribute to the air of natural elegance. La Sultana selected a range of natural aromatherapy and cosmetic products from the Nectarome laboratory which has for many years used the best Moroccan organic plants and essential oils.
For your unforgettable stay
How to get there & what to do
A seaside resort almost as popular as the mythical Essaouira, Oualidia has succeeded in keeping its authentic fishing village charm. Picnics in the lagoon, fine sand beaches along the estuary, oyster-farming, the best Moroccan sea oysters and spider crabs tastings... There are plenty of things to do in Oualidia!
You will be impressed by the many local activities: walk along the rocky coast, or take the vaporetto along the lagoon. For only a hundred dihrams, boats come to pick you up on the river, to bring you up towards the lagoon's heart, home of the oyster park, and they let you get off wherever you prefer.
Don't miss the Saturday's appointment: the traditional Oualidia's souk! During this day, the city comes alive to welcome the medina's tumult, that will make you feel like in Marrakech.
