Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge

Story of the hotel

Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge 4* is situated in the middle of a tea plantation at an altitude of 1000m near Kandy, the historic capital of the country.

The 19 luxury tented lodges are situated on the hillside for a stuning view on the green valley. The decor is refined: tarpaulin canvas from South Africa, sculpted furniture, wooden floors, contemporary bathrooms… Don’t forget the stunning view on the Knuckles mountain range from your private terrace! Also take note of an infinity swimming pool, a large billiard library, a living room with chimney for your cozy 5 o’clock Ceylon tea and a terrace – perfect for a candlelight dinner.

In addition to creating an outstanding place to be, Philippe Gomez, the owner of Madulkelle, takes environmental and humanitarian commitments and conducts actions that involve the travelers, the staff and the inhabitants of the region. In particular hotel uses solar energy system and is growing organic fruits and vegetables in its own garden. The travelers may also actively participate to the children educative program by attending the courses. In addition, 1$ of every night is donated for the development of community projects supervised by an independent fund. Such a great philosophy of cultural sharing and respect!

Lazing around the infinity pool in front of the mountain or strolling by the tea plantation - this is what the art of taking time is all about in the Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge.
