Steak Fernandes, a specialty of the History Café at Brunton Boatyard.

This Anglo-Indian recipe is a typical dish from Fort Kochin.


Beef fillets
1 Kg of Onions
Red and green bell peppers
Red wine
Drambui (whisky cream)



Marinate the steak in the mustard and add pepper. In a pan, carmelize finely chopped onions until browned.
Place the steaks in the pan and cook for 5-8 minutes on each side.
Add the chopped bell peppers and mushroom pieces. Add 1 glass of red wine and a shot of whisky.

Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Turn off the heat and add the whisky cream.

Mix the steaks with the cream.
