Known as a former private mansion built in 1891, the Hôtel Le Ballu is one of the majestic buildings that grew up on the side of the Nouvelle Athène - a district inspired by the writers, actors, musicians and painters who once lived in this part of the 9th arrondissement of Paris. It's on the side of the street of Ballu that this brand new stylish hotel takes you to an imaginary elsewhere.
Enter by a discreet entrance, marked only by the name of the hotel, gives this building luxurious privacy. Pass the door to discover a lobby area with a colourful vintage spirit. Instead of the usual reception, the tone is immediately given by the restaurant situated in the middle of the hotel hall. Design armchairs, pieces of furniture picked up or imported from Eastern Europe, marble and style inspired by a vintage modernist create a modern and unique space. Dreamed and imagined by the architect Thomas Vidalenc, Le Ballu hotel reinterprets its own history through the graphic design of the volumes that are underlined by wooden structures. We also appreciate the creations of Tauba Sarnaka, accomplished Polish artist. In other words, a lot of talent and beautiful ideas are hidden under the look of the lounge, twinned with the green patio on the ground floor of the hotel. This inner courtyard is a real haven in this very mineral district. It is one of those special places, oases of peace.
Right in the center of Paris, Le Ballu offers you a real seductive break, under the care of a young, active, dynamic and motivated team. The table is no less charming, offering an audacious seasonal menu, supported by the marvelous Pastry. Julia Vidalenc, the architect's wife and creator of the hotel’s warm atmosphere, asks you if, after dessert, you will visit one of the colourful Slavic-style rooms, with modern lighting and terrazzo. Their modularity allows you to stay with your family with extra beds and kitchenette areas. In regards to the covered heated swimming pool, and the small private sauna, there again, the decoration is resolutely modernist and reminds you the hotel's comfort with a design reminiscent of Russia in the 1960s.
