Story of the hotel

Located at an altitude of 1000 meters in the Himalayas, in the north of India, Ananda in the Himalayas 5* is an absolutely unique hotel & spa destination in the world. Overlooking the city of Rishikesh, one of the Hindu sacred cities at the source of the Ganges, it is a holistic wellness sanctuary, combining Ayurvedic medicine, meditation and yoga.

The hotel was built on a 40-ha property surrounding the Maharaja palace of Tehri-Garwal near Rishikesh, one of the Hindu holy cities, at the source of the Ganges. The 78 rooms and suites cover splendor and luxury of yesteryear with an elegance that echoes the harmony of the landscape and the mind-blowing view on the mountain and the Ganges that snakes in the valley. The wonderful view of the balconies in each suite on the valley of the Ganges and the heights of the hills of the Himalaya brings a unique energy to the place.

Ananda offers treks and safaris in full nature to discover the region’s richness. Ananda is close to the two holy cities Rishikesh and Haridwar, that overlook the Sal National Forest. In Rishikesh you can stroll by the pedestrian district of Swargashram and Laksham Jhula an ideal atmosphere for an healthy soul. Haridwar is the starting point of the holy pilgrimage to the sources of Ganges. It is also a city of numerous temples. The spiritual atmosphere ofthe temples of Dksha Mahadev and Mansa Devi, to name but a few, is magic.
