Koh Samui: a Virgin Coast or preserved nature

Tourists rarely venture around to the south-west of the Koh Samui island. Yet it is in this island where the "Virgin Coast" is famous for its beautiful vegetation!
Take the highway n °4170 and follow the signs leading to the small fishing village of Baan Taling Ngam. There, you will see in front of you 2 big elephant statues and you will know that you just have entered the area of the "Virgin Coast"!

Koh Samui, discover a wild island...

The "Virgin Coast" has the most beautiful beaches of Koh Samui.
The highlight of this coast is undoubtedly its breathtaking sunsets. Whatever the weather, they are spectacular as they offer unimaginable gradients of colours. You will find along the shore, a few places where you can sip a cocktail or two while watching the sun dissolve into the ocean, illuminating the evening sky.

A fishing village

On this coast, you will discover Taling Punk, one of the island’s oldest fishing ports which has witnessed all of the changes of Samui. Destroyed by a strong storm in 1990, the port has regained its luster over time and was renamed Taling Ngam. For many generations, several Thai and Chinese migrant families have lived  here perpetuating their traditional lifestyle.

Mummified Monk!

At the center of the village, you can discover the Wat Kiri Wongkaram temple, a beautiful and mysterious place. You can see the mummified body of the famous monk Luang Por Ruam who dedicated his life to purity and meditation.

A rural life to stay healthy!

While walking along the coast you will notice many of the traditional styled timber houses still standing. On the rivers, you can admire the boats returning from fishing in the marshes. You will discover all the vegetables found on earth!
Hunting and farming vegetables is still the norm here! 

In other words, visiting the Virgin Coast will be one of the most memorable experiences on the island of Koh Samui.
