A design hotel and spa

The Domaine de Verchant was constructed on the ruins of a fourteenth century building,  inspired by the Follies of Montpellier, those elegant country houses of the seventeenth famous for their rich decorations. The lighthearted owners, Chantal and Pierre Mestre, wanted the project to simultaneously create an intimate, luxurious hotel and to revitalize the wine business. Their design dream came true, thanks to the talent of designer Raymond Morel.

The reception area is brushed in aluminum and framed by a row of pink and orange armchairs by Ron Arad under a vaulted ceiling ... Right away, high expectations are set: the charm of the unusual, the elegance of design and the patina of age.

Signature pieces from the finest contemporary designers, such as Poltrona, Jacobsen, Moroso, Casa Milano and Nanimarquina, were chosen to decorate the 22 suites and apartments without transforming the hotel into an art gallery. The Domaine de Verchant is above all a comfortable hotel, a home away from home where dinners are eaten in a beautiful kitchen that opens onto the outdoor pool. The rooms, all different, compete on comfort and innovation: TVs embedded in the wall facing the bath tub, state-of-the-art computers, heated mirrors and floors, Starck whirlpool bathtubs, showers that rain down gently from the bathroom ceiling, and a home automation system.

We recommend a Deluxe Suite, complete with a terrace to enjoy the view and the fresh wafting scent of the vineyards; consider the Suite Danae or the Suite Neige d`Avril, especially dedicated to lovers with its round bed and double bath with hydro massage. Simply superb!

Tempting Experience: epicurean getaway in the heart of a vineyard

Surrounding the Castle, the Verchant vineyard, made up of sixty thousand feet of grapes on an area of 17 hectares, is visible from the various suites and hotel terraces. Full of Bordeaux grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Petit Verdot and traditional whites like Roussanne and Vermentino; tastings of vintages are available throughout the year.

Services and Activities

Restaurant Le Verchant  welcomes you every day by the pool, for lunch or dinner with friends or family in a warm and contemporary environment that matches the rest of the hotel. The Mediterranean-accented menu was specially created for the hotel by Jacques and Laurent Pourcel.

The Spa at Le Domaine de Verchant is a private club of 750 m, a design marvel that combines spa treatments, fitness, wellness and relaxation. Large glass windows offer breathtaking views over the gardens and vineyards. The spa is composed of a variety of  different spaces: a hotel lobby to have tea or a drink, a sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi, indoor pool equipped with the capacity to swim against the current, affusion shower, a rain shower, treatment and wrap rooms, and also a gym fully equipped with "Technogym" and "Power-Plate". The treatment menu was developed exclusively with Anne Semonin products and is based on the extensive benefits of essential oils, vitamins and Valmont products, inspired by the medical tradition of Switzerland.

Throughout the area, old grape vines and recently planted ones are alongside each other. The vineyard can be visited on request and the wines produced are sold at the estate.

Montpellier
