A historic hotel

Built in 1887, the Cadogan boutique hotel boasts the architecture typical of the nineteenth century, and is the second oldest hotel in London. All 64 rooms and suites of the hotel are decorated differently. The muted tones give the rooms a special atmosphere and warmth. The rooms were designed to offer all the comforts and benefits that are desirable to discerning travelers.
Dark floors and thick curtains falling on furniture is reminiscent of the times when the most important figures in British high society were in this prestigious location.

The suite of Lillie Langtry (No. 109) used to belong to the famous British actress and was later bought by the hotel, but still has a separate entrance that was perhaps used by future King Edward VII to join his mistress. This suite of pastel colors and Victorian elegance is one of the most attractive of the hotel.

The combination of purple fabrics and dark wood give the Edward VII suite (No. 111) its majestic character. The colors are those of the English aristocracy of the time. Elegance and character define the “So British” decoration of the suite where we imagine the painless lives of these English gentlemen.

Tempting experience: sleep in one of Oscar Wilde's refuge

In this very room (No. 118) on April 6, 1895 Oscar Wilde was arrested following the scandal of Queensberry. The colors are blue and chocolate in the room where the famous writer wrote his plays and entertained his friends with his latest masterpieces. The room reflects the elegance and decadence of the author who defined an era and the history of England. As you approach the window, you can enjoy views of Cadogan Place.
