Art Jungle is a unique ecolodge located in the UNESCO protected Mata Atlantica forest, near Itacare. It features eight bungalows, on stilts or up in the trees, and a villa Tranquilla. A stone-throw from Itacare, a small fisherman village of the Brazilian state of Bahia, Art Jungle blends in the surrounding biodiversity, one of the largest in the world.
This boutique hotel is sited in the middle of a sculpture and ceramic park hosting seventy species of plants, trees and fruits. Like an oasis, the hotel is fronted by a river and by the ocean. Art Jungle wonderfully brings together authenticity and luxury to relax your mind and body.

Lodge on stilts or up in the trees!

Local craftsmen built Art Jungle's lodges out of recycled wood and other local natural resources. The lodges are accessed by wooden stairs and boast great views onto the river, the islands, or the ocean. The lodges' hammocks are great to rock by the chirps of the birds or to enjoy the twinkling stars at night.
The lodges' interior is sobre are inspired by local handicraft: furniture, utensils, cushions and sheets blend rustic comfort with the surrounding nature. The hotels' water is sourced from a natural water spring and energy is supplied by the hotel's solar panels.
Whether swimming in the pool or simply lying on the shadowed benches, Art Jungle is synonym of peace, relaxation and lush luxuriant nature.

Service and activities

Discover Art Jungle's rich and lush surrounding nature by canoe: the waterfalls, the mangroves, the Contas river, with its fruit-trees, medicinal plants, and exotic birds...

The restaurant takes you on a discovery of unknown healing and nutritive ingredients: urucum, cacao, quinoa, spiruline...The combination of the two talented chefs (one French, the other Brazilian) results in an explosion of flavours, a mix of sprouting seeds, sea food and earth products. All of it 100% organic!

The moon-shaped, long, white, sandy beaches of the Atlantic, with its coconuts trees doused in the water, are within walking distance of the hotel,

The River Contas is directly accessible from the hotel. Canoes are available for a trip to the Mangrove and to a secluded waterfall where you may swim. Activities on site include rafting, mountain-biking, forest trekking.

The swimming pool, surrounded by its wooden deck, is a refreshing spot. The bar proposes a great selection of fresh fruit juices and cocktails straight from the fazenda.
The hotel also proposes moments of relaxation with massages and acupuncture dispensed by a professional and qualified staff.

Art Jungle is a Non for profit Organization and implements a variety of local programs. At the time of writing, more than seven thousand trees have been re-planted; non-for-profit's educational programs at local schools teach about the harmony of man and nature, reestablish traditional crafts, and educate on recycling and the respect of wildlife.

Itacare is a charming fisherman' village situated just south of Salvador de Bahia That has preserved a convivial lifestyle in the heart of a generous and wild nature. Lush green nature, wild flora, beaches with coconuts trees, mangroves and waterfalls ... those are the ingredients of this paradise which is sunny nearly all year round.
Founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese, the city has prospered from cacao trade and whale fishing. A few of the historical buildings of the colonial era are still around and host restaurants and pousadas.

A few minutes from the hotel, surfers enjoy the best, worldly famous, spot of the area! Hills along the littoral are covered with forest and coconut trees. This makes it an ideal spot for canoeing, rafting, paragliding, biking and hiking. Lovers of untouched paradisiacal beaches will enjoy Prainha, Jeribucacu and Engenhoca.
